Graeme Laurie (high res TIFF for publications)

Graeme Laurie is Professor of Medical Jurisprudence at the University of Edinburgh and Founding Director of the JK Mason Institute for Medicine, Life Sciences and the Law. He held the role of Director of the Institute from 2012-2017). He is the recipient of a Wellcome Trust Senior Investigator Award and Principal Investigator for a project entitled Confronting the Liminal Spaces of Health Research Regulation (2014-2019). He is currently the Co-Chair of a Working Group on Developing a Big Data Ethics Framework with the National University of Singapore, and he is a Co-Director of the Centre for Biomedicine, Self and Society, supported by Wellcome. His current research interests focus on (i) novel governance mechanisms for the oversight of health research, (ii) Big Data initiatives, and (iii) legal consciousness in the realm of regulatory spaces.
